Military information: Cruise missiles were invented in Nazi Germany during World War II these were known as the V-1 flying bomb or the doodlebug. During the 1940's composite armour was developed. Non-explosive reactive armour is an advanced spaced armour which uses materials which change their geometry so as to increase protection under the stress of impact. Automatic rifles and light machine guns arrived at the beginning of the 20th century.
