Military information: World War l was triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Germans joined the Austrians to form the Central powers; the French, British, and Russia formed the Allied powers. Tank tactics require the vehicle to always face the likely direction of enemy fire as much as possible. During the 1940's composite armour was developed.
